Delivery / Package Phone Scam
The delivery scam — "your package could not be delivered, please confirm your address" — is one of the most active US text-and-call scams. The destination is almost always a phishing site that harvests payment info.
Warning signs
- Text or call from USPS, UPS, FedEx, or DHL about a "missed delivery".
- Link to confirm your address or pay a "small redelivery fee".
- Domains like usps-tracking[.]xyz or fedex-confirm[.]net.
- Generic greeting — they never use your name.
Real-world scripts
- "USPS: your package could not be delivered. Please confirm your address at usps-redeliver.cc"
- "UPS: $1.99 redelivery fee required. Pay here…"
If you receive this call
- Check your actual tracking on the carrier's real site (usps.com, ups.com, fedex.com).
- Forward scam texts to 7726.
- Never click links from delivery texts.
